- Rough cut lumber: Normally purchased by woodworkers who prefer to prepare the lumber into “D4S” (dressed 4 sides) themselves. The lumber will sometimes have rough areas as a result of the cutting at the mill.
- Skip Planing: The rough-cut lumber boards we sell have been “skipped planed” (we remove 1/16” from each side of the plank) to show the grain pattern and color. The boards may still require additional planing/sanding.
- Thickness: You will receive a board that is (unless otherwise stated) 1/8” less than the advertised thickness, i.e.: 1” advertised will be 7/8” shipped, 2” advertised will be 1 7/8” shipped, etc.
- Wood color/figuring There will be a variance from plank to plank in terms of wood figuring, color and patterns, as no two planks are alike.
